Wanted- Business Manager/ControllerThe Business Manager/Controller is responsible for overseeing the activities of the finance department, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, departmental budgets and corporate reporting. They provide financial information that will assist the Market Manager, Radio Group Controller and Department Heads in making informed economic decisions regarding the future direction of Detroit radio. The Business Manager/Controller is a member of the management team, participating in a wide variety of projects including budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning.
Responsibilities of the Business Manager/Controller:
Manage operating and capital budgets.
Oversee month-end closings for reporting to radio group controller.
Coordinate internal and external financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
Supervise credit and collections to make sure they are kept current.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable.
Monitor departmental budgets and work with department heads in planning expenditures.
Assist internal and external auditors in performing reviews and audits of accounting records.
Conduct regular meetings with the Market Manager and Director of Sales to review sales forecast.
Provide timely and accurate information to the corporate Vice President of Finance and Radio Group Controller.
Applicant Qualifications Required:
Thorough understanding of GAAP accounting.
Strong background in general ledger, AP/AR and payroll.
Proficiency in accounting, spreadsheet and HRIS software.
4-year accounting/business degree (MBA/CPA and Big 4 experience a plus).
5 years of accounting experience, including broadcast financial management.
Previous supervisory experience.

Wanted: Part Time Event StaffGreater Media Detroit is seeking part time Event Staff who is interested in learning more about event marketing, promotions and broadcasting. As part of the Event Staff, you will work to gain exposure for the radio stations at station-produced and/or sponsored events, area concerts, sporting and cultural events and other on-site opportunities relevant to the station’s marketing and sales effort. Candidates must be detail oriented, creative and outgoing. They must have strong communications and organizational skills and must be able to represent the station(s) in a positive manner at events. Candidates should have strong people skills, web/internet knowledge, and must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines. All candidates should possess a desire to learn more about promotional/marketing strategies for radio. In order to be considered for the position, candidates must have a valid driver’s license and must be capable of loading the station vehicle in preparation for events. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Set up, execution, and breakdown of station appearances
Representation of the station in a positive manner
Maintenance of station vehicle and prize inventory
Interaction with clients at sales appearances
Upholding appropriate station image at all events
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Communication with Promotion Coordinator before and after events
Assistance in training interns
Current valid driver’s license with a good driving record and be able to travel throughout market area.

Wanted- Project CoordinatorThe Project Coordinator is responsible for managing and executing all large- scale station events and promotions. Works directly with the Director of Marketing and Promotions to manage event layouts, pull permits, create timelines, order equipment and signage. Example of events and special projects include; WRIF Rock Girl Search, 94.7 WCSX Rockin’ on the Riverfront, Detroit Sports Golf Outing.
Applicant Qualifications Required:
Must be extremely organized and have the ability to execute events from start to finish.
Assist in planning, managing, and coordinating promotions through all facets of marketing, including: idea development, securing 3rd party partners, sourcing vendors and understanding logistics.
Manage all station promotional materials for events.
Work with the digital team to develop timelines and execution for station events.
Take detailed notes in weekly meetings.
Ability to be resourceful and stay within budgets on any given task.
Write contest rules.
Write contracts for vendors and venues.
Must be willing to work nights, weekends and long hours.
Ability to handle large workload and a number of different projects simultaneously.
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Must be able to lift 15-20 pounds.
Applicant Qualifications Desired:
Minimum 2-4 years in media, entertainment and / or event planning experience preferred.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
